Ruth and Dan’s reception on March 27, 2010, transformed the PGA National Resort & Spa into a spectacular “Tropical/Moroccan Themed” paradise.

Created by the ingenious Michael Ereshena and his team at The Special Event Resource & Design Group, the overall results were rich, exotic, and breathtaking, at once.

table

The walls and tables were draped in a rich gold fabric, and uplit to perfection. The Yellow and Orange centerpieces, surrounded wrought iron, trees, dripping in bejewled tea lights.

The Espresso Chiavari Chairs, coordinated perfectly with the woven square chargers, the oil rubbed bronze accessories, the dark wooden & gold frames, and the decadent chocolate fondant wedding cake.

Meanwhile, as this design masterpiece was being created, earlier in the day…

Ruth got ready in her Bridal Suite at PGA National…

Not long after, Dan drove up on his tricked out Ride.

Now… How cool is that?

Once Ruth heard he had arrived, we quickly finished up our poolside portrait session…

The site of his stunning Bride-2-be brought Dan to tears.

They kissed beneath the lanterned, red-ceilinged car port at the front of the hotel.

Then headed off to the Pavilion, as the sunset ceremony was about to begin.

walking

At the rear of the pavilion a refreshment table was set with this great lemon water service, and little bowls of mints. What a good idea.

The bride was escorted down the glass fluted aisle…

The harpist played… The minister spoke…

And they exchanged vows, as the sun went down.

Dan could not contain his emotions.

Minutes later, they were man and wife. Hand in hand, the newlyweds headed off to their cocktail hour.

In keeping with the event’s tropical/moroccan theme, the courtyard area had tables of varying heights, clothed in deep yellow, with oil rubbed bronze tiki torches and candle holders.

cocktail

The directors of catering at PGA outdid themselves. Anna Erickson, Greg Majka and their marvelous staff, saw to every last detail.

cocktail

An unbelievable seafood spread, complete with jumbo stone crab claws the size of your fist, awaited their guests.

Champagne and “Angel Food Cake Martinis” (yum!) were served by white gloved waiters.

At the conclusion of the Cocktail Hour, after greeting and mingling with their guests, the bride and groom exited…

Soon after, the guests were ushered into the perfectly lit ballroom…

room

Serenaded by the über-talented VoxBlu, {an unbelievable 10 piece orchestra}, from Blues to Jazz to the Black Eyed Peas… all were performed to auditory perfection.

I love how the gold conga drums matched the room.

The bride and groom, danced their first dance, and the rest of the night was just one big party.
